The classic fantasy A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin was first published in 1968 and this fantasy book deserves the praise it has often obtained. The fantasy world, Earthsea, created by the author rich in detail. The smell of fish on the dock of each village and the salty smell of the sea, literally blowing the sides. The magic system of Le Guin's real and convincing, and the way the wizards, witches and wizards felt fit into the society of the natural and logical for me as a reader.
A Wizard of Earthsea tells the story of Ged from his childhood, his maturity as a magician. The son of a blacksmith Ged was born with a natural talent for magic, and the village witch, his first teacher. When his village is attacked by robbers, he helps his village to a confusing fog, allowing the villagers to defend the upper hand.
With its power so clearly Ged is proud to be an error. He wants to show his power and impress people. When a wizard named Ged Ogion to participate as a student, the Union has not been because Ged is impatient for knowledge. With Ogion blessing wizard Ged moved to a school in the enchanted island of Roke. Although this school Ged is more to show a higher since turned born wizard makes the students feel constantly inadequate Ged. Ged accepts a dare to fool the dead, they publish the results in a dangerous shade called up from the underworld. This shadow will be the archenemy of Ged and the rest of the story.
