U.S. Military Develops GPS-Based MissilesUnited States military has successfully developed a missile called the Scorpion, which has the ability to shoot a target-based Global Postioning System (GPS).
"Scorpion glide above the 1.65-mile altitude above sea level that utilizes the Global Positioning System or luntuk inertial navigation system to find the target, target" explained one U.S. military officer Randy Bigum.
"In addition, these missiles are also using sniffer machine Semi-Active Laser (SAL) to destroy a target," he added.
Bigum explain the Scorpion as a munition which is light and easy to adapt. Because these missiles using multiple platforms, including manned and unmanned systems.
"The target can include structure, personnel, light armored vehicles, trucks, cars, missile launchers. The position of this release has a maximum range of more than 10 sea miles," he said.
According Bigum, Scorpion ensure accuracy for less than one meter and dramatically reduce the possibility of damage to warheads. These missiles are available for use against various targets.
