for Mobile, 15 People KilledUsing mobile phones while walking is dangerous for pedestrians. At least in the last six months, 15 people were killed in Sri Lanka because the train was hit while using mobile phones at railway crossing.
According to General Manager of Sri Lanka's railway company, Wijeya Samarasinghe, most people who died did not hear the warning sound train because I was busy calling. "15 people died in six months because of busy with his mobile phone," said Samarasinghe.
The latest victim is killed by a train when called is a teacher who is receiving a call from her son who is studying abroad.
In Sri Lanka there are approximately 14 million mobile phone users. Penetration is quite high because the population of Sri Lanka carrying approximately 20 million people.
A number of countries were already calling for mobile phone users do not drive vehicles or walking while using a mobile phone.
Such actions are considered more dangerous than driving a car in a state affected by alcohol.
